Well here's a good explanation of why solar highways have failed to materialize thus far. Here's the summary: cost of construction is too high (they only got ONE bid for construction), and the nightmare of bureaucratic pitfalls is too dense. (what, is there a shortage of bureaucrats? this recession hit harder than I thought!)
