career confusion MOST LIKELY settling down

(I updated my job description on eHarmony last week, and was like "There.  Done."  Then today: "Oh... right... folks who actually know me... might wanna update my blog...")

So pre- & post-wreck, I have been VERY confused about what to do for a vocation.  It finally sank in that my computer-dork job just didn't match my personality, so I quit going to vocational rehab there.  Next I took one class in the Occupational Therapy major, until I realized that I was only becoming a therapist since I was in a car wreck.  My next thought was "You know, I have a brain, I'd like to think it through."  So thinking I only started the therapy path since I once used therapy, nuh uh.
So I then took two classes on the path to becoming a veterinary assistant.  I mean, here's where you help those that can't help themselves.  All right!  Then last week, it finally dawned in that I should watch vet. assistants at their job before going through school to be one.  So I watched at 2 places.  Yeah... not so much.
Then the next day (5-13), I hit on what I think is a winner.  So on my list of possibilities (spreadsheet, really... I'm such a dork) was "teacher's assistant."  Huh, let's go see what they do.
And luck of all luck, my folks saw that there's a church two blocks away from my apartment that has school for kindergarten through 5th grade.  And it turned out, (THIS IS WILD) the headmaster of that school was the headmaster of the school 56 miles away in another state that I went to from 6th grade to 12th, when I went there!  And I remembered his name!  I was like "Well, I think he has a beard, so I probably remembered that wrong..."  It's been proven again & again that my memory's been through the wringer.  But I went to his school, and yes, he's bearded!  Yay!
But back to the school visit.  I observed kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades.  What I came away with is that they were all good, but KINDERGARTEN IS WHERE IT'S AT.
Here's a profession where it's a guarantee that every day is different.  And you're obviously helping make a difference in other people's lives.  Then when mom reminded me of the school holiday schedule, OH HECK YES!  So I just finished my first week in the education major.  First class is a very basic math, which so far has been so easy I could do it in my sleep, but I've re-learned a few tips, so we'll just see.
So that's it.  Just wanted to share that I've finally landed on the desire to go into early childhood education, and I don't foresee launching from this choice.  I mean, it's clearly good all around!  I finally found a job I'm excited about!
